How to balance Hormones during Menopause?

Most, if not all, women are at least somewhat familiar with the changes that occur during menopause. But what about taking  Hormones During Perimenopause? Perimenopause is the period of time before menopause when hormonal changes first begin. At what age can perimenopause start? What are the symptoms? And what are some ways symptoms can be eased?

What is the average age of Perimenopause?

Perimenopause can happen as early as the mid-thirties or as late as the early fifties, but the average age for perimenopause to begin is early to mid-forties. Menopause begins when there has been an absence of periods for at least 12 months.

What are the Signs of Perimenopause?

Perimenopause symptoms include:

  • Irregular periods
  • Hot flashes
  • Night sweats
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Lower libido
  • Moodiness
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Dry eyes and dry skin
  • Weight gain
  • Memory, focus, and concentration difficulty

What happens during Perimenopause?

Perimenopause often lasts several years, and women may not even be fully aware of the changes that are occurring. As your ovarian function begins to decline, fluctuations in your hormones can occur. It is the ups and downs in your estradiol levels that create the most symptoms. As time progresses, your periods may become irregular and/or fluctuate between the heavier and lighter flow.

Is there a Perimenopause test?

Many women wonder if they can be tested to find out if they are in perimenopause. My hormone balance quiz and testing provide information about your ovarian function and the status of your hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone). Follicle-stimulating hormone or FSH, levels rise during perimenopause, while testosterone levels fall.

Finding balance in your Hormones during Perimenopause

The symptoms of perimenopause are typically directly related to fluctuations in your hormone (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) levels. My bio-identical hormone replacement therapy program is designed to balance hormones and eliminate the symptoms of perimenopause. My treatments are individually tailored to each woman’s specific needs based on her age, weight, symptoms, hormone levels, and risk factors. In almost all cases of perimenopause, testosterone levels are low and need to be balanced. Testosterone is a critical hormone for women as well as men and is responsible for physical energy levels, lean muscle mass, sexual desire, and much more.
